Because Steam doesn’t release sales figures, I use a bunch of variables  to calculate a game's popularity. This includes the rating based on  player reviews, the number of reviews, a game’s average and peak  concurrent player numbers, as well as the total number of followers a  game has.  

These factors combined result in 4 tiers of popularity which I have  grouped into Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze like Steam does with  their annual sales results.

I thought i was a connosieur, turns out i only have 4 games on this list!! I tend to avoid anime games, unless they're offering something really interesting, like Persona 5 or Catherine, or are otome games which lean more to the romantic other than erotic. Whis *is* strange, because i do have a low-key weeaboo Manga streak in me!!

What really surprised me is that there seems to be a big difference between what is most popular on Patreon and what is most popular on Steam. Like the top of Patreon is mostly VR and Daz Visual Novels. With Steam we see a lot more genre and flavor variation.
