Just a little business update for you rad lads, both what I’ve been working on, and what’s coming in the next few months.

I haven’t been in the best headspace as of late, but it’s given me a lot of time to think about what steps I should take next to cultivate my business. Maybe I’ve just had too much time on my hands, and the due date for rent always seems to creep in faster than it seems. That normally wouldn’t be stressful, but I’m now living in a more expensive domicile, and if I want to be able to eat something other than island sand, I need to get more active, restructure my budget, and find other ways to make money and get more eyes on my work.

Step one? Well, I’m getting a vendor’s license. Kind of. Sort of. It’s called a Tax license, and it’s needed to apply for a position for one of the largest daily art shows in my country (that I know of), which just so happens to be a twenty to thirty minute drive from where I live. I’ll be selling original pieces, as well as clay charms... which is what the photo is, by the way. That’s my current inventory sorted into bags by price and theme. It’s a lot more than it looks— the bags are pretty long, and the charms are relatively small. If all goes well, I get in, and I start making decent money, I’ll likely be doing restock days where I just sculpt for a bit if I don’t have a commission to work on.

You know me, though— I consider myself a 2D artist first. My goal is to pony up some money so I can buy some shrink film, paint pens, sealants, and other odds and ends so I can start distributing charms, pins, and other fun stuff based on my illustrations and merch designs. If this happens, I’ll definitely throw it in as a reward for my patrons, but we’ll see how things go. I’m getting by, but I don’t think I can put my money into investments like that just yet. If it happens, though, you lot will be the first to know.

Of course, I’m still working on the Adventure Experience minidoc. In fact, if you follow me on Twitter, you may know that it’s super close to being done. Late Summer to Early fall is my goal, but it’ll probably be closer to early fall. Moving threw a wrench in my plans, so it was put on hold for a while, but all the audio is edited, and the first level is done, so that just leaves level 2 and some closing statements. With the first two segments I edited, plus level one, the video is already something like 27 minutes long with some change. I would be surprised if level 2 is shorter than 15 minutes, so the final video may be just under an hour. Yeah, it’s a lot. It’s already the largest video-based project I’ve worked on, and it likely won’t be surpassed for a while.

Of course, I’m still involved in the Bringers of Hope, and Berry-Tastic fanzines. $20+ patrons have been treated to plenty of previews for those. I still have no idea when Bringers of Hope is being released, BUT, Berry-Tastic is starting sales on August 24th, and all proceeds will be going to For Goodness Cakes. FGC is a nonprofit that matches volunteers to bake birthday cakes for children in foster care, and at risk youths. I’m really happy with the work we’ve put together so far, and I’m really hoping you’ll help support the release.

Aaaaand I think that’s it? Yep, yep, I’m going with that. I’ll keep you lot in the loop as these things happen. Who knows? Maybe something will go right this time.

Thanks again for all that you do for me, and I hope you have a great weekend. Peace out, mate.
