Some new stuff I made in between commissions! I’ve got so much stuff at this point that I should just open up my Etsy store already. Honestly, all that’s stopping me is starting on a new platform, as that’s always a difficult first step. Thing is, I’m running low on supplies, and I’d like to keep doing this, but with the pandemic going on Etsy is really my only choice to sell anything physical. RIP every single art show in my area for the next year or so. As always, I’ll be elaborating on each of these.

1 + 2. Mochi charms! The pink ones are supposed to be mochi ice cream, and the white ones are supposed to be filled with red bean paste. Back in my home town, there’s a bunch of super nice Japanese markets with some lovely restaurants and shops. Words cannot describe how much I miss them, hence why I’ve been making a lot of charms inspired by Japanese foods.

3. Dango, both in hanami and mitarashi. I regret making the hanami dango so big.

4. Lemon meringue pie! I made some pumpkin pie a while ago with the same technique, and wanted to see how it would work with a translucent filling. Super simple, but super cute!

5. Glow-in-the-dark Mini mushroom terrariums! The rest of these charms are made with upcycled bottle caps, which is super fun to do. I’m personally not bothered by the exposed bottle caps, but my room mate is convinced that it might turn some people off. So, this time, I experimented a bit with ways to cover up the cap. This would make them more expensive, but the effect is pretty neat, I think.

6. A mini succulent terrarium, and a regular succulent charm. I really like sculpting these; They’re relatively simple, but the effect always looks super cool.

7. I redid my original rubber duck in a bottle cap bath, so here he is in comparison to the original on the right. Might do another and make the bottle cap look like an inflatable pool.

8 + 9. A koi pond! Another of of my favorite things I’ve ever made. If you remember my last two fish bowls, I tried to do something similar with a bottle cap by surrounding it with clay stones, and I love the finished effect. Probably going to do all of my ponds like this in the future, and it might be neat to try with different sea creatures.
