The development of Northern Ruby Island, part I (Patreon)

Hiya guys, TAD here back again, once again! Today, I wanted to give y'all an update on how the second part of the game is going to look, as well as what we'll be working on and in what order! Keep in mind that Northern Ruby Island has to be remade from scratch, just as we did with Southern. There are a lot of locations, new felines, new mini-games and other things to unlock here, so let's start off with the first scene we'll be implementing: crossing from Southern to Northern.

For any newcomers, all of the screenshots were taken from the Flash demo version of Northern Ruby Island. You can find it on e6 if you have a way to run Flash in 2021. 

This is the first time we have two felines interacting with each other as well. It's rare, but it will happen one more time on Northern. I also have some plans to make it happen post-game, but that's far in the future from now. XD 

As you can see, the feline who talks gets highlighted and grows bigger. In this scene you'll learn more about Gracie and Medea before they both help you cross to Northern.

Once you arrive, it is not possible to go back to Southern unless you have achieved your goals on Northern. As always, this scene will give you a chance to go back and unlock any bonus scenes you might have missed before crossing to Northern.

Since this scene doesn't cover any new felines, it's mainly coding the scene and making sure it runs smoothly. This is what we'll be creating this month, coding wise.

Once you arrive, you'll immediately run into a feline who apparently knows more about you. Her name is Puck. For players of the game with a keen eye, you might have spotted her name before. You can find it on the intro screen and also the animated Portal Sequence. :3

Puck is from an anime called Re:zero and one of three felines you can find with this theme in mind. She's also the main feline on Northern Ruby Island. When you run into her, she will tell you more about your backstory. I won't spoil anything, but if you are really curious, you can find the demo on e6. ^^

Unlocking her isn't exactly easy, but when you do, you'll be rewarded with some sweet and loving sex in the missionary position on the beach:

Creating Puck's first scene is also what's on our agenda coding wise, because afterwards, you're free to explore Northern like with Southern.

Just like with all felines, Puck's art will get an update too. Pilitan and I decided to use her SFW art sketch as the base and only update her shading and lines, since her classic SFW art is pretty flawless, in my opinion. Her NSFW gets a bigger overhaul, as we'll have a POV human penetrating her like with all the updated art. :3

Making these updated pictures of Puck is what we'll be focusing on art-wise for this month. As always, all of the backgrounds will be redrawn too. Once that is done and completed, we'll move on to implementing Puck's main dialogue tree, which is also the biggest out of them all.

Just like with Southern, all of the dialogue will get an overhaul as well, with added details here and there to make the felines more alive.

The other two felines you can find alongside Puck are Blair and Luna. Blair is from an anime called Soul Eater and Luna is from Sailor Moon.

This here is Blair and she's the feline who can help you with your Microchip. For keen readers, again, you might have noticed the intro has talked about your Microchip, as well as the animated portal sequence. What your Microchip is and what is does is something Puck explains to you, but it will play a big part on Northern Ruby Island and help you along with certain mini-games. :3

One special mini-game that's exclusive to Northern is called Feline Seduction!

It's a magical attack you can use on any of the six felines on Northern to try to seduce them. It works as a special mini-game where you have to choose the correct answer to win a feline over! Depending on their preference, you either need to be direct, or try to compliment them to get what you want! :3

And if you succeed, this will be the end result:

Blair's scene all revolves around you domming her. So with Puck we have loving, and with Blair, we have you being in charge. :3

Then, finally, we have Luna!

She is the feline who teaches you the Feline Seduction skill! And of course, what better subject than yourself to test it out on when you've mastered it?

Here, Luna is entirely in control. Her scene revolves around anal, and seeing that most people liked Fia out of the last poll, I assume it's partly because of her hidden bonus scene. :P

Funnily enough, she's the only feline whose main scene is anal. All other felines have a vaginal main scene.

These three cuties and creating the Feline Seduction skill are our first priority. In total, we're talking about five new scenes if you include the Gracie and Medea scene and Puck's first encounter scene. What we're aiming for is one new implemented branch per month. So, our goal is to have these three felines fully implemented alongside the new art and the Feline Seduction mini-game around December of this year. 

In the meantime, I'll also be commissioning new animations for the upcoming mini-games that will be implemented. If everything runs smoothly, we should be able to achieve this goal! :3

And that will leave the rest of Northern for 2022. Which means three felines, about five new mini-games and a boss at the end. I try to aim to have Northern working and functional in July 2022, so in a year from now, but if not, I at least want to have it completed in 2022!
