I'm reposting this (with updated image) in case you missed the previous announcement - updated original post follows!

Hey everyone! I wanted to tell you about a few things that have been on my mind and that I'm now putting into action that I think will allow me to up my game here even more.

The way I've been doing things has been to draw ten new tokens a month to print on cardboard, and then use one of my inked tokens to make a sparkly metallic version. There's several issues with this: production turnaround for my offset printing for cardboard tokens is long (months), there's only a few actual new tokens each set (meaning each quarter) and the sparklies don't reach their full potential with b/w art. At the same time I've been getting consistent demand for old tokens, and, having drawn well over 300 tokens, I feel I'm drawing too much and painting too little - painting being my actual passion and the reason we're all on this page.

Which is why I'm changing things! From now on, every single metallic sparkly token will be a full color, fully painted one. It will also be much more current (based on the latest expansion) since making the sparkly tokens only takes about three weeks, and decided by Patron feedback. Each month I'll ask you what you really really want to see and then paint that. I asked recently and lots of you said Treasure, so - voila! Next wave's sparkly token is a Treasure token, as you see!

The inked tokens, in the meantime, will switch to a model where rather than 10 different new ones each month, you'll be getting 20 different ones from my library of more than 300 different tokens (two each if you're in the $20 or $30 tier). This will allow everyone to keep collecting, without making me draw things I've already drawn for a lack of new token types - since if you do the math, there's actually only one to two new tokens introduced by Wizards per month, if at all.

This will allow me to create better art for you without repeating myself. I'm feeling really good about this change and hope you will all agree. I've already been thinking about adding a tier that only holds sparkly tokens - let me know if you'd be interested in that!

If you have any thoughts or suggestions whatsoever, I'm absolutely interested. Your support and feedback really means a lot to me.

All the best,
Hannes

This Treasure token is amazing ! I'm sad that I miss the previous dino token ;(

I really like the look of the metallic tokens, but their width is a little lacking :( Is it out of the question for them to be normal poker card sizes like your paper tokens?

Anonymous

I second the width issue. I love the sparkly tokens to bits, but they're so hard to take care of, since they don't fit in any sleeves (that I can find). Normal card width would be brilliant.

Any suggestion for sleeves or album where i can showcase/display the tokens?

Hey, yeah I totally understand that. Wish I could change that, however the maker I've found can only produce them in only those exact dimensions and I've found no other place that even makes anything close to them. However, as sturdy as they are, there's no need to sleeve them - they're sealed with a plastic coating that'll last :)

I found an album where I can store the tokens, but the problem is the thickness. its difficult to insert the tokens. is there a way to make it a bit thinner?

Hey! Love the tokens, as always. Just received my most recent package ($20 pledge level) and got a full play set of 5 tokens as well as 2x another 10. Is this part of the new change, or is it normally supposed to be 2x 20 tokens? Not complaining, just wondering for clarity on pledge level! Thanks again :)

Oh! That must've been a mistake - it should be 2x20! I just put in a new system of organizing so from now on you should receive the correct ones each month! :)
