Hey everyone! I wanted to tell you about a few things that have been on my mind and that I'm now putting into action that I think will allow me to up my game here even more.

The way I've been doing things has been to draw ten new tokens a month to print on cardboard, and then use one of my inked tokens to make a sparkly metallic version. There's several issues with this: production turnaround for my offset printing for cardboard tokens is long (months), there's only a few actual new tokens each set (meaning each quarter) and the sparklies don't reach their full potential with b/w art. At the same time I've been getting consistent demand for old tokens, and, having drawn well over 300 tokens, I feel I'm drawing too much and painting too little - painting being my actual passion and the reason we're all on this page.

Which is why I'm changing things! From now on, every single metallic sparkly token will be a full color, fully painted one. It will also be much more current (based on the latest expansion) since making the sparkly tokens only takes about three weeks, and decided by Patron feedback. Each month I'll ask you what you really really want to see and then paint that. I asked recently and basically everyone said Dinosaur, so - voila! Next wave's sparkly token is a Dinosaur token, as you see!

The inked tokens, in the meantime, will switch to a model where rather than 10 different new ones each month, you'll be getting 20 different ones from my library of more than 300 different tokens (two each if you're in the $20 or $30 tier). This will allow everyone to keep collecting, without making me draw things I've already drawn for a lack of new token types - since if you do the math, there's actually only one to two new tokens introduced by Wizards per month, if at all.

This will allow me to create better art for you without repeating myself. I'm feeling really good about this change and hope you will all agree. I've already been thinking about adding a tier that only holds sparkly tokens - let me know if you'd be interested in that!

If you have any thoughts or suggestions whatsoever, I'm absolutely interested. Your support and feedback really means a lot to me.

All the best,
Hannes

Will there be a option to receive the sparkly token only

Austin_Of_The_Lake

That Dino is STUNNING. Is there a tier to get more than one? Edit* The option to get multiple non-sparkly Dino's.

This sounds great, the full color sparkly angel tokens I have are my favorite tokens you've done and more along those lines can only be a good thing :)

Great changes! One of the complaints I've had for a while now is that if you missed a specific token, it was impossible to ever get it again since there's not exactly a secondary market for these. Since you're printing more, an actual collection is feasible now. Yay!

Fully agree with this, especially since I am looking for more of the older tokens.

Love the art for the new dinosaur, especially the colour. I will get 3 of them.

For clarity's sake: 1) Are *any* of the paper tokens new, or only the sparkly one? 2) Do we have any choice, or does everyone get the same packet? 3) If you're going to do new tokens only sporadically as new sets come out, will there be an option to only get the new ones?

If there was a tier that got only sparkly tokens i would switch over in a heartbeat.

If there was a tier that was just above the $10 one that had a sparkly Id switch. Like $15 one or something.

Is there a way to get 3 sparkly tokens in the Buddy Pack (40 dollars)? Like say giving over the 40 dollars (if patreon even lets you do that). If not no big issue, was just wondering. :)

Would love to see a tier with one sparkly token only that's it no paper

If I did that, it'd be pretty expensive still - these sparkly tokens are quite costly to produce and with shipping, packaging, payment fees and tax on top it'd be barely cheaper than the new $18 tier - so it doesn't make sense economically :(
