...got the bookcases set up yesterday! That reduces about 15 boxes that we needed to step over before. Now we can move around a bit. This is mine and Mel’s collection combined. Not gonna lie, hers is bigger than mine. I’ve downsized a lot over the past few years. Moving will do that to you.

My iPhone battery completely died on me (apparently the cold will do that) so I need to get a new one. Fortunately that’s covered by my warranty. Not having my phone on me with constant alerts and messages is...refreshing, but every time I reach for it and it’s not there I have a mini panic attack. 😅

A lot of people back in California have been checking in and warning us that we were in for the worst storm in a decade. We were all worked up and prepared and a bit paranoid about it. The storm came in and it was magical! I swear, I’m not listening to California people about Massachusetts matters ever again.

This apartment is comfy but it has a lot of...personality. For one, there’s little to no storage space. The closets are tiny and the kitchen shelving can’t be adjusted, so everything lives on the counter right now. Also, the biggest storage space, the one under the kitchen sink, has a giant hole in it that goes right under the building so, yeah, we just dropped a bunch traps and poison in there and closed the door.

Hoping this is the week that I get my workspace set up. Every time there’s any open space it becomes a catch all the moment you look away. With the shelves up maybe now I can start being productive. The fam assures me that I need to enjoy my break and relax, but it’s been the better part of a month now. I’m going stir crazy! I need to get back to work. And soda. I haven’t had a soda since we got here. I really need one. 😅

Okay, I’ve got 10 boxes in front of me to empty out, so I’m gonna get back to it. Hope you guys have an great week! Chat soon!

HOLE. LY. CRAP. That HAS to be the most BIGGEST collection of manga I've ever seen! That's no shelf, that's a Barnes and nobles! Other than that, glad the move is going smoothly. 🙂 can't wait for more Black Label, one of my fave comix now! 👍👍

Wow, the hole under the sink, there must be a story down there......!!

Michael

Careful that hole in the floor doesn't lead to a dungeon full of monsters...unless you're planning to turn your house into the Yawning Portal ;)

Your setup makes me want another bookcase. You’ll get use to the New England weather soon.

When I was living in Worcester MA back in 2015, we got around 24.6 in in one day. That was apparently their 6th biggest dumping of snow at that time? I feel you on book shelves: just moved and we had a similar number of book boxes.

Nice looking area and collection and that's a cute tree in the corner. Take your time in getting everything set.

I spy with my little eye a black cat. 🐈‍⬛ I packed an extra soda today so this first one is in your honor. Cheers!

Battery perma-dead because of the cold? First time I hear that, and I live in the Great Canadian Wastes. We have at least a whole week at -31F every year, and never heard of batteries dying because of that. They deplete faster and need a recharge, yes, but they don't die. But hey, if it's covered by the warranty...
