Weekly Update 09.18.18... (Patreon)

This weekend was a bit crazy with me being on the road for the first half and then having to unexpectedly hit the road again. It’s a living. The tradeoff to the sudden and unexpected road trips is that I get a lot of flexibility in my regular schedule allowing me to work on comics, so I really can’t complain. :)

Now that I’m back, I’ve got a non BLACK LABEL post going up in a few minutes. I haven’t looked at my progress of the next page of BLACK LABEL, but I will likely be scrapping it and starting over. I’ll have to take another look at it. I think the issue that I’m running into is scale and brush size. I’m used to working on a sheet of paper and knowing how big an image is going to be. Now, since I’m working on a screen that can be resized and zoomed in and out of, it creates some confusion and line issues. Hasn’t been too big of an issue up to now, but there are only three panels on this page and one of them is pretty big.

So, goals for the week…Let’s get the next page of BLACK LABEL done (we're only six pages from the end of chapter 1)! My other goal is to really take some time to goof around and play with clip studio as much as possible. I’ve also got some tutorial videos that I want to watch. If any of my practice stuff comes out halfway decent, I’ll share it here.

I will be out of town Friday and Saturday, but I’ll have my notes and sketchbook with me. I also have a game of Call of Cthuhlu coming up on Sunday! I’m pretty much ready for it, so that shouldn’t take up much of my time. I’ll share some prop pics as the date approaches.
