Hello, everyone.
As you may know, August is typically a bad month for me artwise. My day job is at its busiest, and the back half of it often has me in a work/sleep pattern that tends to take me out of any groove I'm in artwise, What's worse, once the dust settles I hit that awful state where I feel like I've forgotten how to draw. That's sort of the state I'm in right now.
Now, as the world and the field I'm in has evolved, that pressure has lessened somewhat, and I had reasons to expect that this August might not be so intense. And I was really in a good place artwise at the start of the month. But we had some home related mishaps--plumbing, breakdowns, etc., that has sucked away a lot of my time. To top it off, one of our staff became suddenly unavailable right as things reached it's worst at work. So the last week and weekend have been kind of a wash. This weekend hasn't been much better, as I've spent most of it trying to regroup.
The bottom line is, I'm finding myself just over a month out from Spooky Season and a bit overcommitted. So, with what's left of this weekend I'm going to try to focus on some of the smaller projects I have going so we can close the month out with some fun things. I expect next week to be more of the same day job wise so it may be a while before I'm back in the groove But hopefully, as we move into September things will go back to normal. My days should start a little later so I have time to draw each morning. I'll get at least part of my Fridays back, which will also help, and when I get home (which should be a little earlier) I should have time (and energy) to draw at night as well. Once I finish off the three shorter things I have in mind for the end of month (Omega Moon Three, Bonus, Sketch, and Welcome To September Pinup) my main focus will be on commissions in September. JennyBomb will be on hold for awhile. I feel myself rushing it and I don't want to do that to such an important seguence. October we will circle back to DaphWolf for Spooky Season and then see if we can get Jenny to bed by Christmas.
Oh, and as you may have seen earlier today, all commissions are closed for the time being.
So bear with me a little while longer. There are some good things in the pipeline. A completed commission will premiere here before the end of the month, and another one is already scheduled for mid-september release. Meanwhile, I thought you might enjoy some rough sketches I did last weekend to try to shake the dust off.
Thank you as always for your support and interest!
