We interrupt our usual, programming for one of my other interests—toy geekery.

It’s Yo Joe June, the marketing gurus have decided, and product announcements have already been coming fast and furious. One of the announcements, from third party licensee Super 7’s ReAction line, is a Tiger Force themed Scarlett!  While I don’t quite understand the point of 3 3/4” G.I. joe action figures with the articulation of an old Kenner Star Wars figure— especially at 20 bucks a pop— they do have some fun character choices.  Scarlett was never part of the Tiger Force so it’s interesting to see the color scheme they gave her—kind of a cool “what if.”  I liked it enough to whip up a quick drawing.  Always glad for an excuse to draw one of my favorite redheads.

Enjoy!

While I do love Tiger force and the reskinning of Cobras Rattler, I did fancy the Python Force more.

I had the ASP form Python Patrol and the Tiger Shark and Tiger Sting back in the day. Mostly I was just glad to have another shot at the older (better) toys, garish colors or no. The Python Patrol worked better because of the darker hues, the pattern having a practical application (radar scrambling) and because Cobra tended to be a little more "extra" with their designs anyway. I was always more tolerant of outlandish fantasy and sci-fi elements on the Cobra side.
