Happy Easter to those who celebrate!  At this time of year I like to draw someone in a nice springy outfit, and this year Silver Age Betty Ross stepped up and said "I got this."

I checked out the first issue of the new Hulk comic.  Wasn't thrilled with the direction of the book as a whole but I was pleased to see the classic Betty represented as what seems to be a visual manifestation of whatever's left of Bruce's conscience.  The dress isn't just some random 60's outfit either but is clearly what the real Betty was wearing the first time she came face to face with the Hulk in his debut comic waaaaaay back in 1962!  (Unless you've got one of the recolored reprints where they made it the same red as the outfit she's wearing the first time we see her, when she meets Bruce Banner.)  It's a nice dress, it's kind of springy, it's nice to see that bit of history observed, and so I had to draw it.

Sharp eyed Legionnaires who saw this early may notice I tweaked the colors in the backdrop.  I tend to put pinups of young Betty in front of a color scheme evoking sunset because of the gray Hulk connection--which is what you saw--but this later I decided to go with a sunrise, since this is an image for a cheery spring morning.

Enjoy your weekend, everyone!
