Hello everyone. I’ve been a little busy in the real world—this weekend I got married!  Above are some images I drew for the occasion at the request of my bride featuring Battle Duck and a version of Dragonfly.  Battle Duck was based on my wife from the start, and since I used Dragonfly as a screen name for a long time she asked I use him to represent me, hence the added beard. The first image was used on the invitation, the second on the save the date, and the third on a poster that we had the guests sign as a guest book that we can hang on the wall!

The ceremony was great, with a small but fiercely supportive group of friends and family.  We were very lucky to have people in our lives with a passion for creative outlets like food prep, baking, photography, musicianship, and craftsmanship that gave us a wedding with features we never expected to have included given our budget.  We consider ourselves very luck and very blessed this weekend.

I also want to thank you, my patrons, for your continued support. That extra money that has been coming in from your pledges and the commissions I’ve been getting have been essential in keeping the bills paid as we put this thing together.  Speaking of commissions, now that the wedding’s over I have two big ones due at the end of the month and so I’ll be focusing on that and posts may be fewer here. Julie Takes Wing will definitely be back in October—we’re just getting to the good part now— and I’m planning to do something special for Halloween—more on that soon.

Anyway, thank you for your patience and your support! This group of supporters may be small compared to some, but you are mighty, and you do make a difference—never doubt that.  My wife has always been supportive of my drawing but your contributions make it easier for both of us to justify setting aside time for me to work on it.

Many thanks,

Steve and Cherry Sagar
