Awhile back I got the itch to draw a hulkout and asked the patrons here for suggestions.  One person mentioned Jean Grey  and it reminded me of an idea I had based on a comic released a few years ago.  It was called Savage Hulk and was a flashback of sorts recounting the classic on-the run-you-wouldn't-like-me-when-I'm-angry Bruce Banner encountering the original Uncanny X-Men.  Something goes wrong with Xavier's attempt to help Bruce which (apparently) somehow causes his powers to transfer to Jean Grey.  While the issue ends with Jean undergoing a classic savage hulkout, by the next issue she's turnout to be more She-Hulk like with boosts to her mental powers and intellingence (but an erosion of her ethical standards) and that in turn was revealed to be an illusion by the Leader and so on.

But in short, the Hulkout at the end of issue 2 got my brain going--what if Jean was supposedly cured but it didn't take?  I did a couple of very rough sketches but that's as far as it went until now.  This piece is based on one of those sketches, with early access and exclusive hi-res for you folks.  What do you think?

Excellent work. It's a brilliant example of the inner savage of a superheroine rising to the fore.I remember the story in question and still have it kicking around.I have to admit I liked Jean's jade form quite a bit and the idea of a little bit of Hulk still being inside of her would be quite fun.
