Here's the next commission of 2024! A fairly simple one--a mid shot pinup. The client asked me to take a panel from the 6th (and final!) issue of the very first Incredible Hulk comic and apply it to savage era Jen. In the original, drawn by Steve Ditko, Banner is using his Gamma Ray machine to transform into the (supposedly) controllable Hulk in ture superhero fashion. However, repeated use of the Gamma machine was starting to have unpredictable results, and this time the Hulk was horrified to discover he still had "Banner's milksop face!" Ultimately he used a lifemask Banner had made for research purposes to protect his identity. Later he is unmasked only to find his head had finally transformed to match his body.

This was a great exercise as it was a simple subject I was very familiar with but spun in a new and unique way. Thanks to the Deviant Art watcher who commissioned it and gave me permission to post it a little early!

That sort-of happened in the Incredible Hulk comics if I remember, Bruce was stuck with the Hulk's body with his face, I think.

Was that a different instance than the one the client referred to in volume 1 issue six? I could see a later creative team incorporating a callback to that early issue.
