Ladies of the 80’s: Queen Merla- Voltron (Lion Force) (Patreon)

Here’s the latest in our series—Queen Merla, a villainess from the more popular Lion Force incarnation of Voltron. Introduced late in the series, she was meant to be a suitor for the evil Prince Lotor, who was of course too preoccupied with Princess Allura to pay her any mind. If I’m not mistaken, she ultimately switched sides. She’s somewhat unusual in that she was, unlike most of the characters, unique to the Voltron franchise, appearing only in episodes produced specifically for the American version to meet demand after the supply of GoLion 5 installments was exhausted.

This one was fun to do. I’m especially pleased with the coloring this time around. So for my fellow children of the 80’s, were you a Voltron fan? Do you remember this character?
