Dear readers!

I am tempted to apologize for my irregular posting once more. I shall resist. But I am tempted. In truth, it is my classic problem: I want to only post worthy and finished things, and suddenly a month is by.

I'll get to the cover image in a the third part.

First, some big personal news. Yes, it's an offspring.

This will, obviously, impact my work. At the very least, it will force me to edit myself down more ruthlessly!

---/---

Second, I have some UVG-sized news:

UVG 2E is finally at the printers. There's still a bit of work I need to finish on some inserts and ads for the project, but there you go.

It's always shocking how much more work there is with a project than expected. This time, I thought I had planned quite well. And I had, I had, truly.

But, the back and forth, final prep for print, adjusting colors and dimensions to fit, everything added up, and voila. 2 months longer than I had expected.

Now, talking about that, one of the issues we ran into was ... the size of the big map. I wanted to capture the full size of it, all five panels. That's 1.48m or roughly 4'10". Unfortunately, the printer can't handle more than 1m sheets.

So ... what to do?

Shrink it all down? But ... then it'd be super narrow and I didn't want that.

Well, if you read the above map and knew the UVG, you saw that it's missing the Violet City and has a subtitle.

That's because we came up with a different solution. We split the map into two sections of 0.9m (roughly 3').

Et voila.

I had wanted to do an eastern companion for the UVG for ages (in some posts I referred to it as Red Sky or Under the Red Sky or URS). Now ... I had the chance to map out the first section of it.

I guess, after Our Golden Age, we're going to get the stretch of territory between the Rainbowlands and the Dead City after all. The plan is still to do this as 16- to 32-page zines, though - instead of a single massive tome. Hopefully you'll enjoy this more modular approach :)

Third.

Oh, and that cover image?

Well, it's for an opening adventure I'm writing for Our Golden Age. It's an overland "find/catch the mystery person" adventure with a couple of small twists. I've been fiddling around with the opening (I'm running it for the second time now, and honestly - I always over-elaborate the openings given half a chance). But ... I think it's got good legs.

Oh, and don't tell my RL players, but it also has a post-mortal horde.

At least, it has pretty maps, which also counts for something, right? Though, I confess, I might have to redraw the town on the regional map, haha!

Ok, I hope that was an enjoyable read. Next public post may have some news on the upcoming KS and how we'll bring the big book to the world, as well another roadmap :)

Now to prepare tomorrow's update for the heroes. Coming up:

Our Golden Age:

- OG adventurer + classes
- The Amber Zone - a generator for a more dangerous region for the world

Thanks for reading, all!
