The Ultraviolet Grasslands continue, with voyagers reaching the Chasm that divides the great steppe from the western ridges and finally, that locus of the imagination, the Black City.

This update adds:

1. More character generation options at the beginning.
2. Encounter and misfortune rules in the introduction.
3. The Dead Bridge—a vast, city-sized bridge crawling with degenerated creatures. Including rules for generating quarterling tribes.
4. The Dark Light Passage—a network of cables and tunnels drilled through floor of the Chasm, filled with strange heat- and chemical-based life forms.
5. A bunch of new art and some recolored art.

Why so late? 

It's 2 hours and 10 minutes before the end of June in my timezone - I'm calling it: I didn't flub the update for this month! I'm not going to lie, though: it was a difficult month. With two jobs to handle at once, I was run ragged more than once. Still, it's done.

Lessons for the next project

I've purchased Scrivener and will 95% likely use that in combination with InDesign to assemble the next WizardThiefFighter project. My current workflow is utterly painful by now, and combining art and text properly is just not happening this way. Also, tomorrow I'm moving to a new office, cutting my commute from 100 minutes each way to 10 minutes.

The next project?

I actually have a lot written already, and I suspect you might enjoy it—it's UVG adjacent and brings together rock-golem armors, playable dogheads, colonialism, bureaucracy, tomb raiding, mummification, and great big things-that-are-about-to-become-ruins.

More questions, probably dumb: what exactly does "reload X" mean in the UVG rules. Does it mean "it takes X turns to reload?" Does it mean "you have to reload after firing it X times?"

Yep, after X. But don’t worry about it too much :) - you can replace the X with a usage die.
