Hey everyone, it's finished! Took a little more time than I initially planned, but it's here!

I have to say it was quite challenging to make this one, since there's a lot going on in terms of composition, but I really liked the result.

Had to do a lot of digging to find out how the hell Star Wars beds look like lol. Fortunately I found some concepts from the games that pointed me in the right direction =D

Anyway, hope you guys like it!

Wow. As someone who writes once in a while, I really appreciate your taking the time to do research for your art. While I think you could have drawn her on a box of Macaroni noodles and at least a good few of your followers might never notice unless it was pointed out to them; it's interesting to know you work as hard on small details as the ladies themselves. I have played all the star wars games, even most of the storylines on the SWTOR mmo back in the day. I have read books, comics, and seen everything but the newest movies. I am so confident with my SW knowledge I am even trying to write a script for Disney's Star Wars Expanded universes- -And yet. If someone had asked me what the beds looked like in Star Wars I would have drawn a blank face. Even after walking past them hundreds of times in Kotor and SWTOR etc.

Beautiful. I am a huge Star Wars nerd and Mara is my favorite character from the extended universe. I have always wanted to see her make it into the cannon. she is just amazing and I believe you have captured her so perfectly there.

Also. I think this is my favorite picture you have done. Just the view point is really original. While I am sure there are other vouyerestic pictures of ladies that look from the top down on them sprawling out on a bed - her using the force to levitate the training ball or whatever that is gives the viewer a really unique perspective. It also makes you think of what kind of silly shenanigans force users get up to when they are bored. It's a good thing I don't have force powers. My cat would not have enjoyed being levitated as much as I would have doing it to him.

I adore everything about this picture, from the various textures of the objects and person in the frame to Mara's pose. To comment on something that hasn't been commented on yet, I really like how you've done the view of outer space in this image. The shades of blue and purple are lovely, and those cool colors of space contrast nicely with the warmer colors of Mara's hair and skin (EU Luke was a blessed man).

All I can say is absolutely gorgeous my friend! You always do exceptional work and we are SO lucky for it!! 😍😍😍

Man, the colours in this piece are just so beautiful with amazing cool/warm contrasts throughout. I particularly like the tones across the bed with warm lighting along the edges, with Mara herself popping against the shadows beneath her. Her fire-red hair pops against the pale white pillow and her shining green eyes are incredibly striking. And of course, the exterior looks absolutely mesmerising with it's blended blue and purple tones and the details throughout it. Speaking of detail, the background is absolutely full of it, like I love how even in less emphasised parts of the painting, like the lower right corner, you still painted in discarded clothes all packed with detail and texture with folds and crinkles throughout the material. Same with the sections of the floor there with scratched metallic textures and patterns. I really like that railing thing too that is above the window with it's textured and scratched surface with those bright white edge-lights. I also like the bedsheet that's falling over the edge of the bed and it's rippling texture. And then we come to Mara herself and she is just stunning! I mentioned when looking at the WIP that I was really excited to see this lighting and I am most definitely not disappointed! 😍😍😍 Her face is so very beautiful and looks so striking with that strong contrast in warm light and cool shadow, really defining her features so well and just looking amazing. Her deep red lips with a slight shine to them also look so textured and luscious, I love her hair too which also has that strong contrast in light and dark as well as being packed with detail. Her anatomy all just looks brilliant and I especially like her raised arm with the thin, warm edge lights along her shoulder and upper arm that defines and separates their shapes, then with her hand receiving a tonne of detail which looks great while foreshortened. I always enjoy seeing raised shoulders too with how the pec stretches up towards the shoulder and creates overlapping shapes and so her left arm looks great here too, I also love how even though that arm is almost entirely in shadow, the definition and plane changes are all still clearly rendered. And the rest of her body that we see is just beautiful, once again, the strong warm/cool contrast from the lighting accentuates her so well and makes her look so sensual and appealing. The definition of her stomach is a thing of beauty and the lengths of her legs with the long lines of light and shadow running through them look gorgeous. And lastly, I really like her clothes too, especially her top, with the deep crinkled folds running through the area covering her ribs, as well as the folds over her breasts where the material stretches over them. And once again, just to reiterate, the sense of texture in this painting is just so good! That perfect blend of painterly with realism and I adore it 😊 Absolutely excellent work on this painting! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 I think I'll be using this as a wallpaper when it fully releases, it'll look beautiful on a big TV screen for sure!

Lie, those hips don't. I'm obsessed with the silhouette. It's gorgeous. Beautiful colors too!

Should have put her on a motel slab like a Klingon. Keep that bady hard! Smoking hot bro.

The entire illustration is incredible. Nice job on the detail.

SilverLotus

I got to be honest, I had my doubts that she would look as good as she did in the comics and book covers, but you sir have once again knocked it out of the park with this one

I enjoy and complement the scene as a whole but what kept coming back to was the detail of the shadows from an overhead light, well done. The other thing that popped was the space background, you could have just done a black bacground with white-ish dots as stars. But you didn’t do that and instead made this beautiful background of colors as if they were parking right next to a nebula or some other gorgeous space phenomenon. Tip of the hat to you sir.

My god. It feels like your artworks are getting more pixels and details each time. That environment and lighting is just insane!!! Can't wait to have this one on my screen!

thank you! I think it's interesting to make sure the images "make sense" in their universe. I think it helps keep the character intact, despite the fact that it's a more "adult" version of it, or a scene you wouldn't normally see. When I was going to draw the bed, I thought it wouldn't really be a regular bed in a spaceship, so I did some research, and found that in concept arts for star wars games there's actually "personal quarters", or places similars to bedrooms. So they were really good to point me in a direction that makes sense for the franchise, instead of just putting a regular mattress there lol

I do have to say that I came back and forth on what to do with her. My original idea was always to have her in a personal room, possibly with a "window" with a good view. But I did think on a few different options of compositions before deciding for this one. Basically because it's not often I draw them sprawling out on a bed. Out of the hundreds of images I draw over the past years, there are very few with top down views. So I thought it was a cool choice for this one =)

krysdecker

Thanks! I had to try out a few different combinations of colors for this image, but this one worked the best in the end =D

krysdecker

oh I had a lot of references from the comics to make sure her "features" were similar enough. I loved the structure of her face there =)

krysdecker

thank you! I think this type of lightning makes the scene a lot more alive and interesting to look at =D And since I don't do space views very often, I have to do them right when I get the chance lol

krysdecker

shhh, I'm increasing the resolution to make it look like I can fit more things in! =D

krysdecker

Thank you! The colors gave me a bit of trouble to figure out the right combination, but they worked out really well in the end! Her fire hair and green eyes definitely helps to build the colors though. I also wanted to make sure she had a "adventurer" body but in a way that shows it's relaxed and soft. So the shadows do a great job in making sure all the planes of her shape are there. Also I probably spent way to much time on the boots and pants on the floor, but I have no regrets lol!
