Hello everyone, and welcome to our newest borough: Zahuatil Ruins! Adventurers from across the realm flock to this newly discovered temple complex in the middle of the rainforest. On paper, it's a dream for explorer and archaeologists alike. There's only one problem: the whole temple complex is a fake.

This borough will consist of 4 releases. Let's dive in!

Borough Guide

This first borough guide introduces you to Zahuatil Ruins. The temple complex is in fact a total fabrication, a fake dungeon created by a dragon, a psychopathic gnome, and their legions of kobolds and mimics. Learn about how and why they did this, and the various adventurers, scholars, entrepreneurs, and enslaved kobolds that now inhabit the base camp. Plus, we've got tips on how you can run a deceptively easy dungeon crawl in the fake ruins.

Maps

The northwest corner of the ruins feature river access to the rest of the Chorago Rainforest, the tent of famed archaeologist Deldano Emyahul, and a variety of entrances deeper into the temple complex. We've also got 4 stellar variants for patronst athe General Messenger tier and higher: Shadowfell, desert, misty, and rainy. You can really run this temple adventure however you want!

Our first batch of interior maps are a set of modular dungeon tiles! Mix and match these rooms, doors, and corridors to craft your perfect Zahuatil dungeon crawl! We'll be releasing even more of these with Zahuatil Ruins 03, so you should have everything you need to make incredible RPG dungeons. Note: these maps are large, so we had to include them in a separate zip file. Grab that at the bottom of this post!

Music

Our first track is "Chorago Rainforest," a grooving jungle track perfect for non-boss combat or encounters with deadly traps. All of our Zahuatil Ruins music has a decidedly insidious jungle feel to it, a niche we're more than happy to fill! We also have an ambient variant version of this track that's useful for calmer moments in your Zahuatil Ruins adventures.
