That was fun. My gaming is all on line so I don't use any minis but the discussion was good too. It was always my contention that Paladins in AD&D were people who hated the colour green. Even if goblins, orcs and hobgoblins were described as various hues of yellow, red and brown, I still saw them as green. I ran a long sandbox campaign (twice, once in French and then in English) in the 80s and developed an orc culture, and script, because I'd become bored with monsters being essentially just being treasure carrying bags of differently coloured XPs. GURPS Goblins does a fine job in its Regency setting of developing the satire and we had a lot of good times with this when I ran a Royal Academy of Magic campaign back in the 90s.

I can't believe I didn't mention GURPS Goblins! The Boglanders have a lot of that feel to me.
