In the Transformers universe, there might be a god, but there's definitely a devil. If you thought that sentence was weird, well ... that's Transformers for you.

A lot close to Sigmar but may I suggest the Emperor from Warhammer 40k? I know that he and the Ministorum(?) are basically Grimdark Space Fantasy Catholicism. But there might be new ways to look at fantasy Catholicism, or at least cool stuff to pull out. A religion that is both repressive and protective, brutally necessary and unnecessarily brutal. A spiritual bureaucracy keeping earthly rulers in line. I don’t know, might be interesting.

For an example of Primus as a warforged patron, the Aerois campaign in the a High Rollers actual play series has a homebrew warforged variant called guardians, who were created using a divine artefact known as the prime matrix, of course. The guardian PC (Sentry) inherited this matrix during play (and is now formally known as Sentinel Prime) and can communicate with the original creator (Root Prime) in her capacity as a paladin. I find this interesting, because it's something that might have annoyed me as intrusive ten years ago, but that I can see now is played up because the player is a huge Transformers fan and gets a real kick out of the Guardians' traditional affirmation being 'until all are one.'

If Sigmar is basically "y'know, religion!" the Emperor is "y'know, religion (derogatory)!" Definitely a good one. I shall keep that in the pocket.

I think that kind of thing is always hard to judge -- I would be into it but I know some players find it distracting. And I find it distracting sometimes, too! I don't know what makes it work some times and not others.
