Oh man, that "core shamanism" theory, lots of grumbles about that. I mean like, you could probably strip away the distinctive spiritual beliefs and practices to create a "core monasticism" from the overlaps in the Venn diagram of professed religious the world over, but I'm pretty sure you'd also unite the world's monks in the opinion that you had missed the point.
