But Cthulhu too only has three eyes in HPL's drawing of it. It was in profile but one can necessarily assume symmetry. One of my favourite SF games of space exploration is Sign in Stranger by Emily Care Boss. It uses a cut-up mechanic of drawing random words from three cups to describe what colonists encounter on a new planet. They have to deal with situation and try to communicate with the locals. There's a stress mechanic and it works very well.
