A thought on alignment: you mentioned they were NE but thought that perhaps LE made more sense due to the broken pact - wouldn't that lean them more toward CE instead? Because they rejected Law in breaking their word.

Maybe: you're Chaotic if you believe in overturning rules as a *principle*, not just if you break rules. "You can't tell me what to do" is Neutral tending toward Chaotic; "people shouldn't tell other people what to do" is Chaotic. But Deathlocks aren't the people they used to be -- they're those people with the ability to disobey the patron purged out of them.
