Today's episode begins a new season of Patron Deities, as we dig into the historical background of the Babylonian section, talk about its differences from and similarities to Sumerian myth, and introduce Anu, the god of the heavens. Plus: what can detached, mystical creator gods do for your campaign?

Mentioned in this episode: The Poor Man of Nippur, the world's first film in Babylonian. Listen carefully at the beginning and you can hear the narrator describe the country as "mat Akkadi," "land of the Akkadians," which the subtitles translate as "Babylonia."

As it happens, I had already seen The Poor Man of Nippur. Because I am *squarely* in the demographic for this podcast.
