I've got fairies in my folklore heavy Trail of Cthulhu game. They live in a sort of Dreamlands forest of massively tall beech trees. The court is in medieval tents. The servants are children and the elves courtiers. There's a whole gothic thing in that the season in the wood mirrors what is happening to Oberion (whose queen is Audrey). All interviews with him are fraught with the danger of his petulance, adherence to rules and extremely grudging gratitude.
