Our first two regular-old deities in the Celtic Mythos section are the surprisingly charming lord of the otherworld and the goddess of fire, inspiration and just generally being cool.

Arawn being assigned Lawful Evil is just one more example - alongside The Black Cauldron, the Mummy/Scorpion King, Disney's Hercules, the film adaptation of Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief and I think literally every underworld god you've covered so far in this book - of the tendency to cast the god of the dead and the underworld as, y'know, the Devil.

I think there's a definite tendency to think that a pantheon needs a Bad Guy, and the death god is usually the easiest choice.
