We always knew it was coming, and this is it. This is the episode that finally broke me.

Coming soon to a place near you, Jolly Little Woodland Men, the RPG. Each player chooses a playbook from the 712 available. The GM, known as JH for this game, reads the introduction and then screams at high pitch for four hours, or until his voice fails.

I don't enjoy the humour of embarrassment either, The Office ugghh. That's perhaps why I've never used such sprites, brownies, nixies, ... in a game. At least not for the purpose of being annoying. My fairies are a pastiche of inbred sybaritic nobility, have teeth and bite. Admittedly that is Trail of Cthulhu.

I don't mind a little fairy-tale nonsense in my gaming, but it's a very strong flavour and you have to use it sparingly. I might have a fossegrim in a future game, just hanging out in a stream teaching farmers to play the fiddle. Or maybe a buckawn, challenging dudes to fistfights.
