Is my hard, Grinchy heart melting? I actually quite like some of these dragons!

I only know the word 'welkin' from Feste in Twelfth Night, in which context its meaning is not terribly clear: "Who you are and what you would are out of my welkin, I might say “element,” but the word is overworn." But it means sky or firmament. edit: Ah, specifically it's the part of the sky with clouds in: "From Middle English welken, welkne, wolkne (“clouds, heavens”),"

I should have realised that from the expression "to make the welkin ring" -- ie to rejoice so loudly the sky echoes.
