Another great episode! Couple general questions based on listening to the last few episodes. Probably not a show topic unless it’s part of the ‘in between books’ ones you have done. First, any thoughts about whether it was a good idea for TSR to put all module monsters into core books (fiend folio or the mm2)? For something like the Froghemoth from S3, think the module lost something by having the monster be a generic monster instead of a special ‘exclusive’. DCC and LotFP both put more emphasis on unique monsters instead of monster manuals, and it’s different. Second is your thought on what you want to see in stat blocks. We have early D&D being mostly just mechanics to 1e-4e having generally a mix of background and stats of various levels, 5e seems to include even more background. Swords & wizardry Tome of Horrors includes a paragraph long sample encounter for each monster, which is cool. Hackmaster specifically has sections on ecology, tactics, habitat/society (and yield!) for all creatures. Do you have a sweet spot for what you want?
