I get your point about the Nightmare Beast but I won't have you traducing the Tarrasque, an absolute giant in our 40 year AD&D campaign. On a slightly more helpful note, I tried and failed to find any published material where it had been used, although this might be one such place: https://oots.fandom.com/wiki/Monster_in_the_Darkness

I feel like the Tarrasque has kind of found its feet and now has an identity among D&D monsters. I also think there are a number of other monsters where you can see the creators *trying* to make that happen for their pet creations.
