We don't know Tosen's Friend. The audience not being able to see her face was a stylistic choice because Tosen didn't know what she looked like either. But she and her husband are expanded upon in one of the light novels and it goes into why he wasn't Charged by Central 46 for killing 2 soul reapers, including his wife. Also did you notice Tosen's Zanpakuto is actually his friend's zanpakuto that he took from her casket?
