I don't think it should come as a surprise to many of you when I say that I love books. Reading has always been one of my favorite past-times. After seeing the efforts of many organizations to ban books in US School Districts, I figured that would be a good cause to help with. Not to mention that many of the books being banned in southern states are simply ones that recount the experiences of Black Americans. Or another book that was recently banned was about the Holocaust. I think it's fair to say those experiences are very important and books talking about them absolutely have their place in school libraries and curriculums.

So I did some research and found the Freedom To Read Foundation who help to protect the First Amendment and oppose the censorship of books like these. I think this is a wonderful cause to help support and as always I am so thankful to you all for making this possible! And if anyone has any charity recommendations for Black History Month let me know!

I hope you guys are having a lovely week! I will be back on Friday (2/4) with our new audio!! (Sweet Jock Himbo and the Smartest Girl in Class)

Two things: 1) It's wonderful that you not only give money to excellent causes but spread awareness about great organizations too. You're a real good egg ^_^ 2) Aww yiss, my prompt suggestion won the pol!

As a European, I'm surprised that in America (or any other 1º world country) people ban books in School Districts. I mean, if you don't like the context of the book just don't read it, but that should be one's choice, only. Being a bookworm, I'm totally sympathetic with you.

Yeah it is incredibly frustrating, that's for sure. America is unfortunately pretty backwards in a lot of ways lmao.
