Last post of the year... ( ^▽^ )ノ

I really hope that this 2020 we will continue to create lots of great projects together...!

Now what do I mean by "To support me is to support anime culture"...?

Well, it's time to expand my personal narrative with all of you a bit, as some of you may already know I have a real life job ™...(¬_¬;)

Being honest I can't say that I love or hate my current job. I work as a stationery store manager, but nothing big. We just buy stationery from the really big stores and resell it to the small stores. I started in this job with a lot of enthusiasm since I really love stationery and art supplies. This was really convenient for me some time ago when I worked only with traditional media, but now everything is about that sweet, sweet, digital media. Although I still miss working with the real stuff.

Maybe later I will return to revive some traditional projects...

〜( ̄▽ ̄〜)

But anyway, having a full time job means that I am quite well covered with my daily needs, I really feel bad for not being able to use the classic speech of "the artist in need who is on the verge of starving to death every month".

But please, don't get me wrong, I think it's quite cool to be able to support artists in need and I also think it is cool to be able to abandon social responsibilities to pursue an artistic career despite all the risks.

Fortunately modern internet culture  has made today's bar of entry to the world of freelance artists far less risky than in the past.

Ok, but then, what is your generously donated money being used for...?

Well, as you can see, I spend all my money earned through commissions and donations to buy anime related stuff. And of course all original products imported directly from Japan. (Mostly only anime figures, manga and art books. I'm not big into CDs, DVDs, posters or other merchandise, the excess goes to savings and computer upgrades)

For me, the fact that my hobby can pay for all my other hobbies is somewhat very cool.

Although I keep trying my best to be able to leave my real job and become a full-time artist as soon as possible, the plan has not changed at all.

I hope you also like the idea that all your support is being spent on getting fun and interesting things. Since my camera is finally back next year I will be posting some more photos of my favorite figures and similar things.

So yeah, this is my full circle theory...!

► Japan invented anime ► I culturally appropriate anime art and made profit from it, (This is just a joke, please don't start a debate about cultural appropriation)  ► and then I give back the money to Japan through buying merchandise.

Kind of makes sense to me, don't you think....?

Anyway, I hope that any part of this sounds cool and illustrative to you.

See you next year for more of the same... ∠( :3」∠)_
