I'm happy to share that we're getting close to finally putting the rails on sale. They should go up sometime before New Year's.

We also got the documentation complete for the DD43.1 too. It will be a complete guided assembly. Attached is a copy of it so you can get an idea of what it will be like. If you've assembled a Glock-based pistol before, the steps are very similar.

(Oh yeah, I'm updating some other models to use this assembly guide too!)

Introducing the DD42.1

Thanks to your patronage, I was able to afford a Glock 42 parts kit off GunBroker. To Aves Rails and my own surprise, the DD43.1 rail spec works for the Glock 42! There's a handful of parts that are different, but for the most part, you would be able to put together a Glock 42 with some common parts as the Glock 43. I'm going to research what parts are different, and which you can share.

You might notice something strange of the model of the DD42.1 below- the strange hump near the top! It's more pronounced in a wireframe, but there's a similar hump there too on the OEM Glock 42. The reason being is that without it, there would be a very thin wall otherwise- you could even pick on this thin part of plastic and expose an opening into the trigger bar. (Great for cutaways, but not so much for a functioning design.)

The changes made to the DD42 model are somewhat involved.

I had to pull forward the rear sear housing and magazine housing by almost a whole centimeter. (The throw of the trigger bar to the rear sear housing is much shorter on the 42 than the 43.) Not only that, I thinned down the model's width by almost two millimeters. The muzzle end had to be pulled back slightly too.

This really is a small pocket platform. I think I got some inspiration for a printable pocket model that presents a "discreet" shape when in the pocket.

Unfortunately, I don't have any magazine yet, but I did place an order for that and some snapcaps in the mail, so we should get some pictures soon!

Cheers,

Vinh
