Hey there fellow peeps,

Wanted to fill you in on what's the haps so far in dev-land.

CI/CD Infrastructure for Deterrence Dispensed - We've been hard at work putting together a new, overhauled, and more importantly- resilient infrastructure for our massively growing community. On top of the chat and configuration management platform we have now, we are targeting a working space (a la live editing docs and document sharing) and emails for registered developers. This effort not only includes the software end of things, but also the education side as well. (You might have seen us huddle in the Discord last week to chat process guidance!)

KAP-9 (Kimel AP-9) Receiver - This receiver, based off of the TEC9, has frequently appeared for sale on sites like GunBroker or EveryGunPart, but there's a serious problem for anyone buying it for use on the TEC9 receiver. Unfortunately, the AP-9 has a drop-in trigger group (which I'd argue is superior, as it has a safety lever and is LESS painful to install). In addition, the dimensions on the AP-9 are ever so slightly different to not insert onto a TEC9 receiver, such as a smaller tube, and oversized tube mount hole. In fact, the trigger group also requires a slight off-set for the magazine to seat too. Anyways, this model is now in beta on the Deterrence Dispensed community. Simply send a pic of your parts kit to me and you will be let in the beta.

Camper III (Armalite AR-7) - I'm revising this frame and testing it once again. I've addressed some fitment issues from the (now aging) beta and anticipate putting this out by the end of the year.

S709 (Taurus 709 Slim [Gen2]) - The Taurus 709 Slim (Gen2), also now in beta, is similar to the Taurus PT-111 G2, with its drop-in fire-controls and drop-in locking block with rails. I remixed FMDA's PT-111 G2 frame to be a hair slimmer, and accommodate the magazine for the 709 Slim.

DB389 (Diamondback DB9) - I based this frame off of FMDA's DB380 model- which I discovered both DB380 and DB9 used the same fire control groups and trigger/locking block. The only difference is the trigger bar length. This frame is now in beta, but much like the DB380, it's a bit finnicky with the trigger reset. You will need an AR-15 takedown detent spring to help it along.

Unnamed 522 (Sig Sauer 522) - This reciever I've had the misfortune of identifying which of my printers are not tuned accurately. My Ender 5 has been under-sizing ever so slightly, so I will need to revisit its xyz steps. Anyways, the 522 is a simple, blow-back .22 LR receiver, and I've dialed in 80% of putting things where they need to be. Unfortunately, this is a large print (physically), so getting it going takes a long time, in addition to making the edits so that it fits right. Thank goodness for 1.0mm nozzles.

SW940 Sigma Rail Spec (S&W Sigma SW9/SW40) - So, I was unfortunate enough to buy a SW9 and SW40, rather than a SD9 and SD40 (the later set, there is a print-able frame for). Rather than admit defeat and purchase a rear SD sear housing, I went ahead and designed a rear rail spec for the SW series. Curiously, the SD and SW use practically the same parts (and in fact, they slide and barrel are cross compatible with each other!), so creating a cheap rail spec would help people who buy the kit on accident from having to scour for a SD sear housing (which is depleting afaik). Currently in private testing with a special rail vendor. ;)

In other news- I'm going to retire the Office Hours perk, as I now have an unpredictable travel schedule. I'm going to eyeball some more perks for us, but its hard to stay within the realm of what Patreon does or doesn't allow.

Thanks for sticking around all. It's great to have you here.

Cheers,

Vinh
