While it was tempting to head to the Hostess of Fertility over the Pantheon of the Guild since it was more your scene and you'd like a more gritty look at the known familia's…you decided to head there simply to see about getting some of this ID nonsense.

And to cash in your massive haul of magic stones. It was getting annoying as all hell carrying it around.

As it was, you thankfully did not need to ask for directions. Simply because, your father at least had saw fit to tell you long before that the Pantheon was located right outside the dungeon that was under the Tower of Babel right in the middle of the city.

It wasn't long before you arrived at your destination, a large two story finely crafted and decorative building with a modest splendour. Though it was only two story, the building itself was very long, making up for what it lacked in height with length.

As you made your way towards the entrance, a fat raccoon demi human who just stepped out eyed you with interest, "That's a mighty fine haul you got there friend," he grinned, his eyes greedily looking at it your shirtless form and simple pants and boots almost contemptuously, he thought he spotted weakness, you could tell by the glint in his beady little eyes, "You look like you could use a little hand carryi-

You could practically smell the weakness seeping from his pores. As such, your hand came up in a flash, the back of your hand meeting his cheek as you backhanded him.

With a grunt, his eyes widened in sudden pain as he was bodily lifted up and sent soaring a few feet to the side away from the entrance, tumbling into a rolling heap.

"Out of my way trash, I'm busy." you snorted, and continued on inside the Pantheon ignoring everyone that stopped to stare.

You paused in the entrance, your boots stalling on shining blue marble tile beneath you as you peered around.

You could see multiple adventurers lined up at a booth with bars blocking anyone from the ones inside.

'Exchange point.' you recognised. You'd seen one in Melen a few times when you visited with your father so he could exchange his own magic stones every few months.

You'd deal with them in a moment, but first, you had to ask about familia's and getting ID.

Your eyes went to the open booths where you could see a multitude of people waiting to serve adventurers and the general public.

Four of them were free right now. A red haired werewolf, a brown haired bespectacled elf, a short pink haired human woman and a black haired elf man with a bored look on his face.

Perhaps it was the warrior in you, but you found yourself making your way over to the werewolf.

After all, your clan had done battle with clans of werewolves. Many a werewolf clan lived by the warrior mentality of might makes right and attacked any that approached their homes and took what they desired.

That was why there were quite a few werewolf servants in your clan. Your clan had decimated four of their clans in your lifetime.

You had participated in two and you admired their abilities with their beastification which when under the full moon allowed werewolves to even compete with members of your own clan.

Though not you or your father of course.

Not to mention, she was quite the beauty. Beautiful crimson red hair and gleaming, cold yellow eyes, with a voluptuous figure clad in a professional and crisp black suit.

Now that you thought about it, a child of your own that inherited the Bein Bloodline and the beastification ability of a werewolf would make for a very potent fighter under the moons light!

"Can I help you?" she asked as you approached.

"Yes," you replied with a nod, "I want to register for an Adventurer's ID and would like a list of Familia's and your thoughts on what ones are worth joining miss advisor."

"The names Rose kid," she shrugged, eyes flickering briefly over your body and frowning, "Newbie huh? I'd recommend against it, but none of you idiots ever listen. Whatever, it depends on what you want in a familia." as she spoke, she reached under the table and pulled out a sheet of paper and slammed it down in front of you alongside a pen.

Nodding, you picked up the pen and idly looking over the form, before beginning to fill in the information it asked of you, "I'm not fussy, while I'd prefer a familia that allows me to focus on combat I'm also a trained smith," you replied as you wrote, "Though I'd prefer a weaker or smaller Familia, one without much to their name over a bigger one." you added.

Your preference was for two reasons. One, in a smaller familia you could quickly rise to the top and call the shots, allowing you to do as you pleased, while the other was simple pride.

You did not want to coast by on others efforts. You would rather build a familia to greatness rather than join one that was already great. You had been born to greatness, trained by greatness, surrounded by greatness all your life.

You wanted to make greatness of your own.

"Well…there's no shortage of weaklings," Rose the werewolf snorted, "Take the Soma Familia for instance. Big familia, full of low time thugs and the Familia only has two level two's, decent place for a tough looking kid like you I guess to make a name for yourself. There's that Takemikazuchi Familia that just signed up a few weeks ago, has like six level one's but none that really stand out or anything and really poor like most starting Familia's here. I guess Astrea Familia counts as well, used to be a big hotshot Familia, everyone reckoned would rise up to be on par with Freya Familia and Loki Familia, then they got caught in some crazy thing with Evilus three years ago and lost near all their members, they've only got one member now, albeit a level five."

She lifted some form of magical device and pressed something on it, a flash lighting up your face before a greyed out picture of yourself was deposited from a slit on it.

"Miach familia definitely counts I'd think, another one that used to be an up and comer before one of their members got her limbs chewed off in the dungeon and all their members left but her when they fell into debt," she mused tapping her chin as she lowered the photograph, "Can't speak of Miach without Dian Cecht either. A lot more known and well off, the Dian Cecht Familia only has one level two who's pretty famous called Dia Saint, best healer in the city, but beyond that just a few level ones, they're pretty weak in the grand scheme of things really."

She went on and on listing a bunch of different low powered, low ranking or small Familia's, but only a few really stood out to you.

The Soma Familia, The Dian Cecht Familia, The Astrea Familia, The Miach Familia and The Takemikazuchi Familia.

Of course there was the Hephaestus Familia and the Goibniu Familia's that stood out to you as well as smith familia's. But they were really well known and strong Familia's which ruffled your desires a bit.

A half an hour later, you left the Pantheon behind, your load much lighter now in the form of a single large coin pouch that jingled joyously from all the valis inside.

And a dapper new ID card with your face on it in your pocket.

And a decision freshly made in your head.

You'd narrowed your choices down to two in the end. Astrea the Goddess of Justice with a single member who was level five and Takemikazuchi a god of war from the Far East.

While you would progress faster training with a high level such as the only member of the Astrea Familia left alive, and the choice was very tempting. Not only was the last living member and now captain of the Familia a level five, but she was also a pallum who's alias was Thrail.

To think there was another pallum out there who was up there with the Bringar brothers and Braver and a female one at that. She made you think of the admiration you had for Fianna growing up.

But in the end, you already knew how to get strong. And Takemikazuchi was a god of war said to be a master of dozens of martial arts, dozens of different weapons and styles and more.

His ability to teach you how to hone your skill with your own knowledge of how to grow stronger, would benefit you more in the long run.

'Well, if it doesn't, I can always convert after a year.' you mused. And really, what was a year in the grand scheme of things? And you could always meet Thrail at some other point.

You would already live much longer than normal humans thanks to your spirit blood and with the falna, your life expectance would increase even further. It was estimated that for a normal human, each level they gained could add anywhere from thirty to fifty years added on to their lifespan and more for other more long lived races.

If you surpassed everyone as you planned in the Zeus and Hera Familia's, you would be at least level ten.

By then, you would most likely live for over a thousand years!

Well, assuming you did not get slaughtered by the One Eyed Black Dragon that was apparently soon to make its move….whenever that was.

Erebus was never very clear about that, just that it wasn't any more than thirty years.

Very helpful….not.

Interesting. Lyra (Thrail) is supposed to be dead and Ryu the only one alive. I like Ryu so I'd be sad if she turned out dead instead.
