To be honest, I feel like I may have made a bit of a mistake with this story. While it's a little fun...Konosuba is so easy to beat with anyone with the work ethic and common sense. So with an actual cheat, there's like zero conflict. I wonder if I should rewrite it? Do something different?

"Wind Blade!"

Chris winced as a shrill croak left the mouth of a giant frog, before it was split down the middle by a massive blade of wind, its corpse splitting in two and tumbling opposite ways.

"Fire Ball!"

Which was immediately followed by a large fire ball being shot like artillery fire from Yarden's free hand not carrying the cursed blade Gram, slamming into another giant frog beside the first now dead with a ground shaking detonation and setting its entire body alight.

It died in agony.

There was two more left.

One was already fleeing, the other was rushing straight towards them. Or rather Yarden, she was just watching boredly at this point while sitting atop a log behind him.

"So eager to join me, I like you!" Yarden laughed, pointing the gleaming beautiful blade of Gram at it, crackling electricity forming at the tip of the blade, "Lightning!" he declared.

A large bolt of lightning zipped forward from the blade, and like its fellows before it, the giant frog had no chance to dodge. It shrieked as the lightning slammed into it and washed over its body, electrocuting it to death.

It was an utter slaughter. The giant frogs had no chance against Yarden, not even when he first arrived here. Never mind now.

Usually they would be tough to face even one on one for adventures starting out, but once they cleared level ten, even an average adventurer class fighter would be capable of dealing with them easily one on one should they have the right gear, like a bladed weapon or magic.

Yarden on the other hand, because of his cheat item, the Dragons Core, had stats that even a level thirty adventurer would be hard pressed to match, at level one.

'That's to be expected though.' Chris wrinkled her nose at the stench of burnt frog carcasses. The dragons core he had, wasn't any old random creation. It was formed from the heart of the ancient dragon emperor, strongest of the dragon race in its time.

And even nowadays, a thousand years later she'd yet to hear of a dragon that could match it, never mind surpass it.

"Please tell me we're done now." Chris pleaded with the boy, she hadn't even been able to do anything all this time, she'd just been following him around for over an hour while he drew monsters to him and killed them.

Fun for him, not so much for her.

Admittedly, since they'd just been wandering the plains outside Axel and not entered any of the forests, it had just been all giant frogs they'd ran into, by the multiple dozens.

"Eh, I'd prefer to keep at it, hardly anymore are popping up now," Yarden shrugged as he stabbed Gram into the ground eyeing the fleeing frog, "I want to fight something strong, like a whole bunch of those bear guys."

"Then you should go back to the guild and pick out a job, they'll have the locations of strong monsters for you to look for." Chris pointed out, or rather pleaded.

She'd seen a bunch of jobs just earlier this morning, like for dealing with a nest of wyverns up in the mountains around Axel, and even the hydra quest was back, which only happened once every ten years.

She was so bored just watching because he wanted to farm all the experience himself. Such greed.

He was already getting five times the experience as usual thanks to the dragons core. Dragons literally breathed mana. The core within him, contained all the experience one would get from killing the ancient dragon emperor. It was used to amplify experience gained by the holder and would recover through taking in the natural mana in the world around them.

It could amplify up to the sheer amount of experience one would gain from killing the ancient dragon emperor in one burst before it had to recharge.

And that was a lot of experience. If the giant frogs gave one hundred experience upon being killed, then the ancient dragon emperor would give around five million.

"Hmm, good point," Yarden nodded in agreement and Chris had to resist breathing a sigh of thankful relief, "Lemme just kill this last guy then, he's the last one I need to hit level forty two, plus I wanna try something."

…It was going to be something asinine, it really was.

He'd said that a few times over the past few hours, where he'd 'experiment' with his new skills.

Like when he used Toad Leap to throw himself high into the air, before forming a shield around himself with Reflect. And tried to turn himself into a…well meteor.

If he wasn't so damn sturdy now, he would have killed himself through sheer idiocy.

As it was though, between his absurd stats now, alongside the Dense Musculature skill he got from the One Hit Bear earlier which enhanced physical strength and durability by fifty percent and then his physical resistance skill….

He may as well have fallen onto a soft fluffy bed for all the damage he'd taken.

"Don't hurt yourself." Chris warned feebly.

If he did die, it was just her who would be dealing with him again anyway since Aqua-senpai was taken by that Kazuma guy down to this world.

Besides that, with his absurd growth he was probably one of the best shots they'd gotten at this point for dealing with the Demon King. He was nowhere near as powerful as the Demon King right now, but he could definitely give his generals a run for their money.

And he wasn't actually far off reaching the point where he'd gain the dragon transformation, the cheat item was designed to give the user access to that form at level fifty.

If she had access to her divine power down here and could buff him, and he hit level fifty and transformed he might actually be capable of putting up a decent fight against the Demon King.

And he hadn't even been here long.

"No worries," Yarden waved her off, a massive grin on his face, "I just wanna try out a combination of spells." he said, as he lifted both palms up.

"Fire Ball!" he chanted and a blazing orb of flame sizzled into existence overing over his palm, trails of magical energy emitting up from his palm into it, yet he held it there, charging it instead of unleashing it, "Lightning!" he chanted again, and the palm of his other hand lit up with crackling electricity.

Yet just like with the fireball in his other hand, he didn't unleash it and instead fed more magical energy into it.

What was he doing?

'Is he going to fire them at the same time?' Chris wondered, before her eyebrows rose as he crouched a little bit and cupped his hands together at his sight, the flames and lightning crackling and sizzling together within his palms.

…Eh?

Something about that seemed really familiar.

She stared at him as he fed more and more magical energy into his palms, the flames and lightning sparking unstably as he did so-

Before suddenly he thrust his palms out!

And a gargantuan fire ball crackling with electricity, bigger than a standard house in size erupted forth into the world and exploded towards the fleeing frog.

"Are you crazy!?" Chris gaped as the frog was hit in just a few moments even from nearly two hundred feet away, and was consumed in a massive explosion of flame and lightning that shook the earth and creating a light show that could have been seen all the way back in Axel!

The destruction could have even given that crazy explosion weirdo that had turned up a few weeks ago a run for her money!

"Aha, I knew it would work!" Yarden laughed victoriously, pumping both fists into the air, "The magic of this world sure is simple! It's so easy! Just say the name and point and fire or hold it and charge more magic into it!"

That poor frog.

"That was completely over kill Yarden." Chris sighed, rolling her eyes. Like everything else about him, his mana capacity was absurd as well. Probably the most absurd out of all his stats actually.

But then again, dragon.

It was basically their birth right to have an absurd amount of mana. When they were still eggs after all, the parent dragons would inject their own mana into the egg up until the baby was born, and it would absorb much of that mana and make it their own.

Most arch mages at level twenty or so couldn't match the mana capacity of a newly born dragon.

"Maybe a lil bit," he shrugged, "Gimme a sec to grab these bodies up and we can head back to Axel then."

He walked over to the nearest of the frog corpses and clicked his fingers. His shadow under his feet ballooned out spreading around him, stretching out over twenty feet long and wide, encompassing all of the giant frog corpses in the area besides the one whom had tried to flee and they sunk into it, disappearing from sight.

'That Shadow Vault skill sure is handy.' Chris hummed as she watched him then jog over to the final frog corpse that was practically charcoaled black and do the same to it.

"So that was forty five giant frogs in total right since first batch you killed?" Chris asked as he made his way back over to her.

"Yup," Yarden nodded, grin on his face still as he sat down beside her, "Gonna be quite the payday!"

Well that was for sure, not even counting all the monsters he'd killed earlier. The Giant Frog extermination job was ongoing. And the pay out was one hundred thousand Eris per five slain and their corpses were worth twenty five thousand each.

He was looking at two million Eris from them alone.

Poor Aqua and Kazuma, while Yarden was easily raking in such a massive amount of money, they had just currently been fired from a restaurant because of Aqua accidentally purifying the alcohol she was supposed to be taking to customers.

And were living in a drafty stable from what she could see through the eyes of her true self still up in the divine realm.

'I wonder if I should let Yarden know about them?' she wondered. It was his goal after all…to impregnate Aqua. He'd probably make a beeline right for them.

On the other hand, Yarden was already a handful, with Aqua's influence he might just turn into an actual natural disaster. Especially since she did have access to her divine blessings, even if her power was massively weakened in the mortal realm.

….Thoughts for later.

"So what level are you now then?" she asked.

Reaching into his pocket, Yarden pulled out his adventurer card and looked it over, "Looks like level Forty Two." he said, and flashed his card at her giving her a look at it.

And once again, such an absurd status for his level.

Only eight levels left until he could assume the dragon transformation the dragon core bestowed upon him. And he had another eighteen skill points to use at that.

"My levelling up is slowing down a lot now though," he commented, as he pulled the card back and eyed it, "When I first started, a single one of those frogs got me from level one to five, but it took nine to go from forty one to forty two."

"That's the breaks, you didn't think it was always gonna be that easy huh?" Chris snorted, "Lemme tell you, that's nothing compared to how much it would take to go from say level ninety nine to a hundred."

"Yeah?" Yarden raised his eyebrows.

"Oh yeah, for a normal person it would take over a hundred thousand of those toads," Chris happily revealed, "Luckily for you it should only take a bit below thirty thousand of them."

"You wot mate?" he goggled at her, "That's…some absurd experience point curve!"

That it was.

That was why it was so rare to see anyone above level thirty. And only the best of the best were above level fifty!

Of course for Yarden, he may was well be over level two hundred compared to a normal adventurer class right now like that Kazuma guy Aqua was with.

Not that she would say as much, because he was just too cocky and needed that pride deflated a little bit.

For his own good actually.

Daddy Ivan

Keep the story please. You’re the only author I’ve seen actually handle Darkness the way any real dude would do it. Everyone else just doesn’t like her and doesn’t write her in much, or they completely pussyfoot around her until when they finally do lay with her, it’s vanilla af. Small rant over. The story is quality. It’s hard to find good Konosuba ones. Keep it lighthearted and world build. That would be perfect
