the 9/11 project bit at the end reminded me that when i was in 6th grade i was so ancient alien pilled that i did an independent study project and presentation on why the pyramids and macchu pichu weren't made by humans AND i did another on how goldman sachs ruins the economy and how 9/11 was a conspiracy. glad i got that phase out early i guess

To add to the comedy of errors that led to the high number of fatalities in the titanic, another ship had stopped in the same icy waters and sent out a message to all other ships nearby about the danger. the message was heard by the operator on the Titanic, but it was interfering with his ability to hear another message so he basically messaged back "fuck off i'm busy". The operator on the Californian, the ship that sent the warning, then went to bed as he tried to warn the titanic. An hour later the titanic hit an iceberg and sent out a distress call that went unanswered another 20 minutes after that.
