00:00:00 - intro

00:06:34 - I intended to pursue a career with my PhD. However, I want to pursue video editing as I enjoy it a lot. Do you have any advice for video editors? What are the key skills you look for?

00:35:37 - My local smash scene isn't popular or active. Where should I start to make my local scene more active?

00:56:04 - I don't really have a relationship with my stepmother. She doesn't speak to me. I really want to make a connection with her, what should I do?

Been using Shotcut for personal projects for like a year and wasn't fully sold on it. Resolve is a bit overwhelming but very exciting. Thank you for the advice.

2023-05-03 05:15:52 Perhaps this happened to some degree over the 58 advice show episodes, but given the somewhat repetitive themes for the questions, it would be cool to see the advice pod evolve into something like Dear Hank & John from the Green brothers (vlogbrothers, scishow, crash course). It's ostensibly an advice pod but really — since it's now been going for 6+ years — the questions have much more whimsy to them, more levity, more inclined for a fun answer that begets some fun riffing rather than "what do with career? what do with hobby or girl?"

Can we hear the story behind why the KFC ad was filmed 48 hours before it was due? I'm very interested inside production of stuff but I understand if contractually you can't speak on it.

I love hearing nick talk about film/editing, he has a lot of unique insight. I could listen to a pod of just that sort of thing if anyone has any recommendations
