There was a gift shop at one of my church camps, too, and until Nick mentioned it, I completely forgot about it. Looking back now, I'm realizing how morally grey that was. I was like 12 but they even had kids as young as 7-8 that went there. Some of the stuff I think was fine to sell, like normal candy bars and ice cream, things you couldn't get in the camp cafeteria. But they also sold CDs and religious shirts (not related to the camp itself) and miscellaneous MLM jewelry, etc. In what world is it okay to let a bunch of kids spend potentially hundreds of dollars on a bunch of non camp related stuff?? Wild.

Also something for the first question: this obviously doesn't help if you're in person and not near your car, but my husband suggested that you add some sort of sticker or magnet on your car (his suggestion was a coexist sticker, but you get the idea)

As a leftist from rural Appalachia, I really feel the first question. And Nick is spot on, a lot of non-conservatives here end up radicalizing a lot more left than you would think.
