I know this is a super old Pod but I have been in the same situation as the first asker. Ngl I was a bitch about it and did the same and was super detached from convos but she never took the hint. For backstory I work in a restaurant so all this was in person and eventually in like a group convo (where I was friends w others in the group and forewarned them this was going on) I dropped that I was having a rough time w my health and just couldn't put any effort into new friendships. Later when she was just still obstinately stupid and took no hints I just went in with a resting bitch face and started ghosting messages. It's either that or treat it like turning a guy down and just say it to their face, which I was admittedly too much of a pussy to do.
