Slime's tweet is harmless and honestly it just comes from a place of ignorance towards the anime scene. Toriyama was likely one of the only people in the anime world which people DID know the name of (next to Hayao Miyazaki of Ghibli fame), because Dragon Ball Z single-handedly created a generation of weebs. Slime didn't know Toriyama, and the same thought as everyone has had when someone famous is trending, he thought "Who?", likely expecting some communal agreement, but to no surprise it was the opposite; yeah, maybe a little bit tasteless, but definitely didn't deserve the outcome.

Honestly I was fully on slimes side the entire twitter thing until he revealed he's a fan of dragon ball and even said he didn't know the dude that made cowboy bebop despite it being one of his favorites. Obviously what the other dude said was still insanely out of line but I think it's crazy to not know at least the names of the people behind your favorite media, and to then assume others don't aswell is even crazier and makes it feel like he has some sort of mental disconnect.

And honestly I don't really think that not know the names of people that make you're faves is normal, mostly just because their names are usually plastered all over the media as the first thing you see in the credits or online when you search it up or a million other places.
