Dylan loved his girlfriend Marie to death. She was loving, kind, and drop dead gorgeous, with long blonde hair that elegantly flowed halfway down her back.

Dylan was nineteen and still living with his father, Jack. Jack always wanted his son to make something of himself, especially after his mother passed away from cancer. Jack had worked tirelessly to take care of Dylan, making sure there was always food on the table and a roof over their heads.

Marie had been staying with her boyfriend, almost to the point where they could be considered as living together. There were nights where their lovemaking was so loud, that Jack had to knock on his son’s door to get them to stop. One night, while laying in bed, Jack made a wish to himself. “I just wish that I knew what was going on between those two,” he said. He then closed his eyes as he drifted into a deep sleep.

The morning sun had shined brightly on Dylan’s face. He opened his eyes, blocking the sun’s rays with a hand as he got out of bed. Marie was still asleep, so he kissed her cheek as he made his way to the bathroom.

Jack finally woke up that morning. Something felt off but he didn’t know what it was yet. His chest felt heavier and his sight was blocked by golden hair. He swiped it away, not noticing how small and dainty his arm was now, and saw the interior of Dylan’s room. It looked like any other nineteen year old’s room. Posters aligned the painted walls as the television was playing a random YouTube channel.

Jack got out of bed, feeling tinier for some reason. He walked out of the room and passed by his son, not saying anything as he made his way to the bathroom. His eyes went wide and he gasped as he saw his reflection. It wasn’t his fatherly self. It was Marie.
