Aemond killing Lucerys has a lot of backlash on both sides. It’s considered the worst sin to kill one’s own family in Westeros and Luke is his nephew (well, technically half-nephew as him and Rhaenyra are half-siblings). So when news comes out people will be horrified by what happened and not want to support Aegon even if he didn’t command it. For Rhaenyra it’s the straw that breaks the camels back. She was willing to make peace for usurping her, she was willing to make peace for the shock causing her to miscarry, she was willing to overlook not being made aware of Viserys dying the moment it did, but killing her son? Absolutely not. Then there’s also the fact to consider that if it comes out Aemond didn’t mean to do it, the truth comes out they can’t always control their dragons which given there’s so many of them leaves EVERYONE uncertain and puts all of House Targaryen in a precarious position. It was damn foolish what Aemond did, and damn foolish for Borros to allow them to leave at the same time (it’s very hard to catch but Borros is actually Rhaenys’ first cousin) because it’s obvious what was going to happen. Now there’s no turning back. And the Dance of Dragons begins.

To clarify the Daemon choking Rhaenyra scene. In ep 1, Daemon was heir for Viserys for as long as Rhaenyra was alive. Viserys was waiting for a boy to be born. All that time Daemon was heir, Viserys never told him the prophecy on the Catspaw Valyrian dagger about Ice and Fire. It shows he never ever trusted him about really being heir. And Viserys told Rhaenyra as soon as she was made heir. He truly wanted her to rule. Daemon listening to Rhaenyra about this prophecy is like telling Daemon his big brother never really trusted him. And Daemon does what Daemon does and lashed out at Rhaenyra. Her laugh at the end was a mocking one to Daemon, "He never told you, did he?".

Just a final note to the season. Next season is what they wanted to start the series and all this background this season could be explained thru flashbacks or an intro. That's why there was so many time jumps. Now we get to the main story. They expand the world next season to the bigger world. We will see Jace ride Vermax to visit Jeyne Arryn in the Vale, then Cregan Stark at Winterfell.

To be fair Mum, Rhaenyra was pregnant in episode 8 too. Also Rhaenyra hasn't had twins at all, Aegon is older than Viserys. This is her 6th pregnancy, 3rd with Daemon so not like he's going nuts on getting her pregnant. I believe this stillborn baby was Rhaenyra's first Girl Visenya. Hers & Daemon's first girl together. All that stress and betrayal cause this early labours. Broke my heart losing Lucerys, he was such a sweet child and definitely a mommys boy and a nervous Nelly. Always see Rhaenyra comforting him by holding his hand like this episode and in ep 8. Rhaenyra is such a strong, amazing woman. She confirms that even more in this finale. So happy Jon & Dany come from Rhaenyra & Daemons bloodline. Glad u finally seeing Daemom cares too, i hate that they made him choke Rhaenyra, it's bit out of character bcuz he's always been about family, especially her. I guess it could be due to him being so frustrated and angry by all this Green betrayals & usurping, he's lashed out at his queen since he never knew the prohecy & want war to take the greens out. U should know how Dragons are bonded to their riders. Syrax was feelimg Rhaenyra's pain. Also want to point out that poor Syrax also lost a son this epsiode too (Arrax) Also, Coryls was never missing lol he left for 6 years and got injured. The Hightowers are the GREENS.

Poor Arrax is a child dragon, they hatch in the babes cradle remember mum. Arrax was clearly scared and feeling Lucerys fear too, so he was just defending himself. Poor thing doesn't know Aemond being a fool, playing with Vhagar like shes a toy. Vhagar is over 200yrs old, Visery was correct when he said "The idea that we control the dpragons, is an illusion"
