Hello everyone,

I apologize for missing the update yesterday. I think I need to set an alarm for the upcoming weeks to prevent this from happening again!

I'd also like to extend a warm welcome to all the new members from NLT's community. I'm thrilled to have you on board :)

Progress has been going well recently. I finished DAY 5 in the game a few days ago and am now working on DAY 6. This will include a few short scenes, which should take about a day each to create, and one larger scene. Overall, I'm confident that I can complete this by next Wednesday or Thursday, depending on my workload.

After that, I'll be moving on to DAY 7, which consists of three small scenes, a "bigger" one with a mini-game, and a LEWD scene. This should take me around 7-8 days to complete. Then, I'll tackle the last day of this first episode, DAY 8, which has just one huge scene.

So, I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I believe I can finish this before the end of January.

I'm eagerly anticipating the next phase of development, which will involve creating and coding the mini-games visuals, developing the free roam event, designing the Facegram for characters, optimizing the game's GUI, refining game mechanics, and finally, post-processing the images and animations. February will be dedicated to these tasks, leading up to the game's testing phase and an early March release.

This is also an exciting phase because, as always, I prefer not to rush into LEWD content and emotional connections with the Love Interests (LIs). I like to let players get to know the characters first. The more I progress, the more I can introduce subtle interactions with the LIs, like kisses or physical contact, indicating their interest. I enjoy creating these moments that lead to such scenes.

I forgot how rewarding it is to develop new characters and build their relationships with the Main Character from scratch. It feels really great.

I'm also quite satisfied with how the story is evolving. I was initially concerned about including redundant scenes, but so far, they all seem necessary. My main challenge with visual novels is managing the branching storylines. Every decision leads to different outcomes, and with "Law School" being a larger game, I need to limit these branches early on to avoid a burnout later during the development.

This means that in this first episode, your decisions won't significantly affect your progress with the LIs, aside from missing out on secret renders or short "sexy scenes."

You'll understand what I mean when you play the game wink-wink.

Now, for some numbers:

2112 story statics
42 animations
39 scenes have been fully written

Progress is steady, and I'm happy with how things are going.

I estimate that DAY 6 will add about 300-350 story statics, DAY 7 around 200 excluding the mini-game, and DAY 8 approximately 150-200. It's unlikely that I'll reach 3000 renders for this first episode, but that's okay as it's already the largest episode I've developed so far, and it's not even finished yet.

That's it for last week's progress update.

I need to get back to work now, there's a game to be made!

See you soon and have a great day,

MisterMaya

Take your time. I don't think people realize how important it is to build up relationships in storytelling. The easy access girls are always a let down for me.
