What's new in the 0.9 update? (Patreon)

The update 0.9 has been the biggest update the demo has had, hence why the demo now takes up about 30% more space than it did before, and also requires three installer files instead of two. The installation process is the same though, just one more file to download.

Bugs are expected to be found (and some have already been) since so many things were changed. There was already a semi-bugged version of the game out for the first 10 minutes after launch, but it was quickly removed and fixed. In case you were one of the unlucky few who downloaded the bugged one in the first few minutes (it didn't let you do competitions after you had attended a lesson), I recommend re-installing the update.

One is the biggest new things is that the menu view is entirely gone. You are now playing as the girl at all times. The menu screens have become a part of the world - for example to start a riding lesson you have to click the riding lesson flyer in the stable. To ride a horse, you have to click the saddles.

The environment went through a lot of changes as the spring has come and snow is melting away. Water areas have water particles and sounds. Other sounds have been added as well. 

New lesson with Rose was added. In the lesson Monika teaches you how to ride young horses. A lot of you have been confused about Rose getting tired so fast, so playing the new lesson should help you understand how to ride her in the most efficient way. She is fully capable of clearing all the competition courses for example, but only if ride her carefully.

The competition mode went through changes again as well. The old competitions didn't feel right in the big new arena, so they were removed from the competitions and are now found in the indoor arena selection. You can spawn them into the arena in free riding mode.

The new Spring Showjumpers competition has 5 classes. There are also new rules, which I highly recommend studying before competing.

Basically, the competition classes have been divided into two phases - the first phase focuses on careful riding more than speed, whereas the second phase takes into account both penalties and speed. You need to clear the first phase without penalties to proceed into the jump-off. This style of competing is commonly found in real-life jumping shows.

You need to have completed the new lesson with Rose to compete.

To create your own course in the new update, go into the indoor arena as the girl, click the Edit Arena board, and put any of the custom courses in the arena (the lesson with Rose needs to be completed to access them).

Now when you walk around the arena you can edit the course. Saving is done with Ctrl + S. The custom courses also update their images in the Edit Arena menu each time you save. To make your old custom courses have a picture, you need to re-save them once.

Important thing to note. When you launch the game for the first time after updating, the screen might act weird. I believe this is caused by some screen settings having been changed between this and the previous version. Closing and reopening the game should make the issue away. You can also try pressing F11.
