Hi folks,

Firstly, thank you to everyone who listened to the finale of Of That Colossal Wreck, the first series featured on Neon Inkwell. It has been an incredible launch for the show, and we can’t wait to showcase more creators there for you all. This week, we’ll be sharing a behind the scenes episode featuring Helen Gould, director Maxamillian John, co-writer Jonathan Sims, co-writer Sasha Sienna and Sound Designer and composer, Katharine Seaton. They’ll be chatting about how they found the process, creating the music and soundscaping for a science fiction show and how it all builds together with the writing to fit the genre of existential horror.

Next up, the feed will feature something rather different from Sasha and Jonny’s existential science-fiction horror. After three years of being a Patreon-exclusive show, we are very excited to be publicly sharing Inexplicables. For those of you who haven’t listened to it before, Inexplicables is a six-part dark comedy written by Tom Critch and Alexander J Newall. 30-something disasters, siblings Harold and Meredith, were already a mess before their mum’s unexpected death. They’re both barely hanging on, can’t spend five minutes with each other without arguing and now have to travel back to their hometown in the North of England for the funeral and to tie up the loose ends with their mum’s community care organisation, the ICS. But the ICS isn’t quite what they expected. The Inexplicable Community Support’s clients include vampire, lycans, the dead, the possessed and everything in between – all with their own specialist requirements. With house visits, support groups and a series of strange disappearances, there’s more for Harold and Meredith to contend with than simply clearing out their mum’s house.

Inexplicables has an incredible cast, featuring many familiar voices for fans of Rusty Quill including Beth Eyre, Ian Hayles, Fay Roberts, Karim Kronfli, Alexander J Newall, Alasdair Stuart, Imogen Harris, and cameos from many more.

Inexplicables will be launching publicly on 26th January. We will be sharing the episodes, ad-free, under the Neon Inkwell banner here on Patreon 48-hours early so that you can listen along, but you can also listen to the original uploads right now, available for Citizens, Knights and Nobles: https://www.patreon.com/collection/14808?view=expanded

Inexplicables is a really important part of our history here at Rusty Towers – it was our first multicast, scripted show, and shows off just how great short series audiodramas can be. We’re really excited to be able to share this to a wider audience for the first time. There’s more to look forward to on the Neon Inkwell feed too – once Inexplicables has finished, we’ll be sharing The Pit Below Paradise, by J Evelyn Gaskell. As a central religious figure in the basil-loving community of Paradise Village, no-one is more sure of their future than Dorian/Dori (he/her). But when the date of his expected sacrifice is rescheduled, Dori is forced to enter the wider world and attend local college. That's when Will enters her life, a former gravedigger with no reason to suspect his vibrant new roommate is anything but what she seems... The Pit Below Paradise is a refreshing blend of drama, humour, and yes, romance that you won't find anywhere else!

In other news, we are just over a week away from the official launch of The Magnus Protocol. As a quick reminder, the show publicly launches on 18th January, but Knights and Nobles Patreon supporters will get access to the episodes ad-free and 48-hours early each week, starting on 16th January. To celebrate launch week, we’ll be sharing episode one and two – but more on that next week. If you can’t wait, be sure to check out the recording of our MCM London Comic Con panel from last October, which we shared last week: https://www.patreon.com/posts/magnus-protocol-95850701

Now we’re just one week away from this much anticipated return, you may want to revisit your favourite episodes from the original series, or remind yourself of what happened in The Magnus Archives. You can find and listen to every episode, ad-free, here on Patreon available to Knights and Nobles. If you’re looking for a bit of a different way to listen, why not check out our Spotify playlists, which sorts episodes by the fear they feature.

We are also very excited to be working on some new merchandise for you all – as well as some exciting The Magnus Protocol designs that will go to Teepublic, Redbubble and Crowdmade on launch, we are also working on some bespoke dice trays and dice towers featuring designs inspired by The Magnus Archives and a new perfume scent to follow up the huge popularity of our previous Jon Martin scent with Sucreabeille. Watch this space for more information, coming soon!

I really wish that they didn't use redbubble for their merch. Redbubble is always mediocre quality at best. I wouldn't mind paying more for higher quality merch

OH HELL YEAH, PUBLIC INEX RELEASE!!!! I can’t wait to usher in a whole new wave of fans 😁 And the next Neon release after that sounds AMAZING, it is so totally going to get me through my final semester of uni. Plus Protocol! RQ fans, we are getting soooo pampered this year. I also 👁️👁️ cannot wait to hear the OTCW behind the scenes chat. All of the elements came together so well, I’m dying to know more about how y’all managed it. Hope everyone is having a warm and safe start to the week! xx
