Hi folks,

At our panel at MCM Comic Con London, we were able to announce something we’ve been working on since The Magnus Archives 2 Kickstarter campaign finished at the end of 2022: The Magnus Protocol Live Show.

Magnus Live: The Hilltop is a new dramatic ensemble theatre production featuring fan-favourite characters from The Magnus Archives and The Magnus Protocol, premiering in late 2025.

There is a place beyond the world that should not exist.

A place where nightmares and reality are one and the same.

Sometimes people fall through the cracks.

This is their story.

(Image description: A poster for Magnus Live: The Hilltop. An illustration of a disembodied head coloured in dark red and green. The head is side-on and tilted upwards, the mouth open, and eyes tightly scrunched up as if the person is screaming. Coils of green tape are coming out of the open mouth, leading to a green, unmarked cassette tape. Below the face, instead of a neck or torso, the illustration transitions into an upside-down cityscape of tall, dark towers and spires. The illustration is done in watercolours, and the cream textured background is marked by splashes of paint. Above the illustration is text reading: "Rusty Quill presents". Below the illustration is the title: "Magnus Live: The Hilltop")

More than a simple table read or live recording, The Hilltop is a fully scripted, two-act play written by Jonathan Sims and Alexander J Newall, bringing iconic characters together with new, original work.

As you might imagine, putting this theatre production together – including a cast of actors, lighting, costumes and music – will be a huge undertaking. We are very privileged to have RQ staff members with extensive theatre experience and are also working with a number of third-party organisations to ensure everything runs safely and smoothly.

We intend to film a full performance of the show to share with folks who are unable to attend and, after an initial run of performances in London, we will begin to plot out a UK tour. Taking this extra time between the first few shows and the rest of the tour will allow us to make any small adjustments to the show and improvements required both on-stage and backstage before we tackle the complexities of a tour.

More information, including venue for the first show and the date tickets go on sale, will be announced soon.

Magnus Live: The Hilltop

A nightmare you'll never remember, a show you'll never forget.
