Doing animation alts are more work than making shorts, or is it just me? Even if it doesn't take as long, making those new layers and making sure they fits together is it's own can of worms. It would be simpler it was just a paint layer on top, but to make sure it can be changed in case something goes wrong, I keep color and line layer separated (easier on the workload long term. Preview wise, better render as a gif/mp4).
